Mank
Synopsis
David Fincher's meditation on the creation of Citizen Kane follows screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz as he writes the screenplay for Orson Welles' masterpiece while reflecting on the moments that led him to that point. Based on a script by Fincher's late father, the film is a thought-provoking drama about taking accountability, standing up to injustice, and putting your name on the line. Despite being Fincher's first film since Gone Girl, it received a surprisingly muted response that it didn't deserve.
